OUR MEMORIES
Sylvia Obaseki

Sylvia. We miss you.

We look at these photographs and wish you were still here. Just for one more day with you.

A photograph together at home

Forever Supermum.

Giovanni’s mum. His supermum. The love you gave him will stay with him all his life.

A shared moment by the sea

You and Bobby. Your time together.

You met in 1990. That meeting became a life shared together. We remember you both with love.

Being close to one another

So much of yourself. Given to others.

For decades, you lovingly cared for your residents. With gratitude, we remember your care and the people you gave it to.

An afternoon together

A song. A coffee. A thought of you.

In familiar things, we will miss you. And find memories that keep us connected to you.

A moment with Sylvia

Forever our Sylvia.

We wish you were still here. Thank you for the time we shared, and for the love you gave us.

Sylvia Obaseki

Dear Sylvia,

we wish we could have had so much more time with you. Simply sitting together, having a coffee and talking. Today, we look at these photographs and wish we could share one more moment like that with you.

Your place will always be yours.

You are Giovanni’s mum. His “supermum”. The love you gave him will always be part of his life.

You and Bobby met in 1990. That meeting became a life shared as husband and wife. When we look at these photographs, we think of your story and the years you shared together.

You belong to our family: as a wife and mum, a daughter and sister. Each of us carries our own memories of you. We want to share them with one another, to laugh and cry together, and to keep saying your name. We will always keep a place in our lives for our dear Sylvia.

A moment shared with Sylvia

You gave so much to others.

For decades, you lovingly looked after your residents as a nurse. You stood up for them and gave them your kindness and care.

When we speak of your generous heart, we think of those people too. Of all the years you devoted to caring for them. We remember with deep gratitude how much you gave to others.

Some things will keep you close.

Your crocheting. A cup of coffee. The music you loved to listen to. These familiar things will bring our thoughts back to you.

When “White Flag” by Dido plays, or a song by Céline Dion, we will think of you. Perhaps it will hurt. Perhaps we will smile too. There is room for both. We miss you because you mean so much to us.

With love, for Sylvia.

We wish you were still here.

Dear Sylvia, thank you for your love. For what you gave to your family. For your devotion and your care. For the part of our lives we were able to share with you.

We are saying goodbye, and we do not yet know what the days without you will feel like. But we know that we love you. And that we will remember you.

Forever our Sylvia.

Saying goodbye together.

We come together to honour Sylvia, share our memories and be there for one another.
